bombshell
program notes
In this collaboration with fellow choreographer and performer Taisha Paggett, we explore our bodies relationship to war and (self) surveillance. We investigate how hyperconsciousness of our own bodies as dancers and women parallels how we keep ourselves in check as gendered social bodies, citizens threatened by the American government's monitoring practices. Dancing alone, in contact, and in duets spanning vast spaces, we intently watch each other's body parts even as we try to relate as whole people, or, conversely, hide from public scrutiny.
